The Brief:

To take Where You At's existing brand containing their logo, colours, icons and brand mascot and develop the assets into an all encompassing brand, complete with brand guidelines outlining the rules and usage of elements within the brand.

Where You At Brand Bible

Where You At is a communication app that allow users to locate and contact their friends within clubs where there is often a lack of signal and light.

As part of the project, I created a visual language that creates uniformity across the brand. I took inspiration from their logo using the W and the A as directional shapes to be used in designs. I paired these with gradients using the brand colours to create dynamic layouts and designs.

I also redesigned the icons to create more consistency amongst them whilst keeping their neon, pink glow which works well with the club theme where the app is likely to be used. I also developed their fonts to match the feel and values of Where You At.

Within the brand, there are two audiences: the app users and venue owners, as a result two slightly different styles of visual communication have been created. For app users the visual language is much more playful, using the giraffe mascot and focusing heavily on the directional shapes and colour usage. Whereas the visual language created for the venue owners is more serious, focusing on statistics and data with hints of the shapes and gradients rather than them being a focal point.
